A Campin’ We Will Go

Except for short trips around town, which she loves, Allie had not been in the car alot. She had never been camping with us. She is a country dog and not used to being confined to a lease. We were apprehensive, but she did great. She loved the camper and made herself right at home. It took a couple of days for her to get used to “going on a lease” when we stopped, but that came, too. She loved running untethered when we got home, but I am sure she will be ready to go on another trip.
I have more pictures of our trip on my Flicker site listed on the right.Â

I thought most birds only had their babies in the spring. I have seen barn swallows have a nest of babies in the spring and again in late summer. But, this year, I have seen fledging Mockingbirds and, now, this nest of young Sparrows. Â Just goes to show you how much I know about birds.

This is exactly why we planted these flowers. The male showed up earlier, but he did not stay around long enough to get a photograph.

It has been so hot this summer I have had no desire what-so-ever to get out and find something to photograph. I have been taking pictures of my dog, Allie, and was going to post one of those. But, as luck would have it, I was sitting outside with my camera while watching my granddaughters swim and along came this hummingbird. IÂ went out to my studio the other day without my camera, and a male flew around these same flowers for 20 minutes, at least. While I enjoyed watching him immensely, I would liked to have taken his picture as well.
